What is a snap score?
A Snap Score is a number that represents a combination of your activity on Snapchat. It's essentially a gamified metric that increases as you use the app more.
What contributes to your Snap Score:
- Sending Snaps: Each Snap you send to a friend will increase your score.
- Receiving Snaps: Receiving Snaps also contributes, though perhaps not as much as sending them.
- Posting Stories: Adding Snaps to your Story will likely add to your score.
- Maintaining Streaks: Keeping up Snapchat%20Streaks gives a boost, and letting a streak die will affect your score.
- Other factors: Snapchat hasn't fully revealed all the exact calculations, and there might be other activities that contribute a small amount.
The Score may increase upon occasion and it may not always be predictable.
What doesn't affect your score:
- Viewing Snaps: Just looking at Snaps that others send you doesn't increase your score.
- Adding Friends: Simply adding new friends does not seem to directly influence your snap score.
Why it matters (or doesn't):
- Bragging Rights: For some, it's a fun way to compete with friends and show how active they are on the platform.
- Indication of Activity: It can be a rough gauge of how much someone uses Snapchat, though it's easily manipulated.
- Mostly Arbitrary: Ultimately, the score doesn't unlock any special features or rewards within Snapchat, making it primarily a superficial metric. It is mainly a fun way to see how active you and your friends are on the platform.
